Continuing the theme, and another solo album of acoustic guitarist John Renborna. In addition to guitars (Guild D-55) is nothing here, not even words ... Like most British teenagers fifties Renborn was fascinated by skiffle and at one time played in the school band The Hog Snort Rupert's and Famous Porkestra on borrowed electric guitar ... It was then that he first and decided to try an acoustic guitar, believing that some reefs in this case would sound more interesting. Through skiffle and his successor, rhythm and blues Renborn came to Elizabeth Cotten (Elizabeth Cotten). In 1958 in London and throughout England hit was the song Freight Train, which performed many skiffle groups. Renborn dug up the original, discovered this singer blues and already it has already learned Leadbelly, Jesse Fuller (Jesse Fuller), Josh White, Big Bill Broonzy, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee ... From blues groups at the time he gave unconditional primacy Alexis Korner and Blues Incorporated. And the greatest influence on him had a guitarist Viz Jones (Raymond Ronald Jones), a which is still almost unknown ... In the mid-60 Renborn enrolled in Art College (Kingston Art School), where he studied in a group with Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and some time with them studying and Sandy Denny. And then he, along with Bert Dzhenshem created the group The Pentangle. But why Renborn - not Paige and Clapton? He could go on them because Renborn was well educated, no less susceptible, and a guitar owned almost worse. The main quality Renborna - diligence and discipleship. But he has always been the nature of the second - and, being the second, did not allow himself to be reckless and careless ... In the ongoing second less likely to stumble, than the leader. All his works are smooth, correct and even costed ... Not for nothing it is called "the guitarist-mathematician."
